Mark Merritt - Peace of Me
Way Past Cool

By Mark Merritt, Earl Musick & Roy Robinson

I
put some streaks in my hair
Tired of feeling so square
Just to see how the world's gonna take it.
Got my Oakley sun glasses,
Eddie Bauer sweat-shirt
And some aftershave that makes me wanna shake it.
I got my polo cap brim
That's all bent around
And a chain from a dollar store sale.
At least one article of clothing
That's two sizes too big
And I think I'm looking good as hell.
(Chorus)
Hey I'm cool.
Way past cool.
Makes me a whole lot closer
To looking like a fool
But you point and giggle,
Laugh until you turn blue.
What you don't understand...
I look exactly like you.
My drawers sticking out
At top of my pants
I own brown and black Doc Martins
My pants are too long
My pockets too big
And my baseball shirt says
"Florida Marlins."
I got a mountain bike rack
That doubles for skis
And a wrench on my Jeep
Just for looks.
I'm completely decked out
For every sport in the world
You oughta see all the money that took!
(Chorus)
Car-Hart jacket, belt buckle
That's a big one by golly.
Pointed toe boots
And a hat creased my Salvador Dali
Heavy starch is a must
That bandana's too much
A turquoise ring on every finger
Worm in the bottle
Air-brakes on the truck
I got a unit that's a real hum-dinger.
(Chorus)
